Description
The name is derived from its sweetness.Sweet melon belongs to a group of the muskmelon family. They come from Cucumis melon of the gourd family. Other fruits included in this family are casaba, winter, Crenshaw and other mixed melons.
The fruit grows in semiarid climates. It does not get harvested on size but rather on maturity. A sweet melons maturity is tricky to measure. The ground color helps determine its maturity. The flesh is usually pale green in color. However, the smooth peels ranges from yellow to greenish.
